This OHS-compliant multi-fibre riser cable is constructed using 900µm PVC tight-buffered fibres, stranded together with aramid yarn strength members and enhanced with “Dry-Block” water-swellable aramid reinforcing and blocking yarns.
Indoor/Outdoor variants are typically over-sheathed with a black UV-resistant LSZH jacket, delivering durability, safety, and compliance for commercial and enterprise installations.
Construction Overview
- 900µm PVC tight-buffered optical fibres
- Aramid yarn reinforcement for tensile strength
- Dry-Block water-swellable yarn system
- UV-resistant LSZH outer sheath (black standard)
- Sequential metre marking on sheath
Customisation Options:
- PVC sheath
- NHFR (Non-Halogen Flame Retardant) sheath
- Alternative sheath colours
- Any fibre type (including mixed fibre types within one cable)
- Configurations up to 96 fibres
Key Features
- Tough UV-resistant LSZH jacket (standard black)
- Dry-blocked core to prevent longitudinal water ingress
- 900µm tight-buffered optical fibres for direct termination
- Aramid yarn reinforcement for mechanical strength
- OHS compliant design for safe vertical installations
Applications
The outdoor-rated tight-buffer riser cable is the preferred solution for:
- Inter-building backbone links
- Vertical riser pathways in commercial buildings
- Direct termination installations
- Duct and indoor backbone applications
The integrated dry water-blocking system prevents water migration along the cable in the event of sheath damage, making it ideal for exposed or transition environments.
PVC and NHFR sheathed options are available for indoor and duct applications. Please note that NHFR and non-black sheath materials generally do not provide the same high level of UV resistance as the standard black UV-stabilised LSZH version.
